Features:
Wolves -Survival of the Fittest is more than a mantra – it’s a state of being. Lone Wolves easily make the strongest fighters, and they are also the fastest on foot. A retreating Wolf is hard to track down, and fights with Wolves are rarely fair. With their stealth, they will pounce on their opponent when they see a moment of weakness. Wolves also know how to focus their mysticism by calling upon the spirits with their chilling Howls, striking terror into the hearts of even the stoutest Sheep.
Sheep -The Sheep have developed a strong sense of order by keeping the needs of their flock ahead of their own desires. This philosophy has allowed the Sheep to survive and thrive in the face of the superior Wolves. Sheep aren’t as fast as Wolves, but there are some compensations for the wooly-coated ones. They have amazing jumping abilities, special ramming attacks, and downright baa-zar flocking bonuses. While a Wolf will probably take down a single Sheep, in a group battle the conclusion is by no means foregone.
Catgirls -With the spirit of a cat and the body of a girl, Catgirls must balance their feline tendencies with their human ones. Catgirls are incredible dancers and can summon bard like powers to increase the moral of their group members or to destroy their enemies. You can often find Catgirls using their incredible powers of shopping to get free coupons, too. Due to their small size, these denizens of dance are very slow, but Catgirls can mount sheep or wolves to make up for their slow speed.
Scrappers-Scrappers are a bipedal assortment of creatures not very interested in battle. With opposable thumbs and the inclination to use them, Scrappers can craft equipment, bake foods, smelt ore, re-enchant items, or bake tiles of awesome power. Due to their small size, Scrappers are very slow and aren’t very good at hand to hand combat, but when mounted on a Sheep or Wolf their powers of tilomancy make them a force to be reckoned with. There are 12 different kinds of Scrapper forms to choose from: bear, bull, cat, deer, dragon, fox, goat, lizard, sheep, skunk, squirrel, and wolf.
After you’ve created your character, utilize the highly configurable skill system in Secondhand Lands to create a custom build. Skill points can be spent towards acquiring 24 race-specific skills or tweaking your abilities with a known skill. With 200 skill points to spend, no two players will be alike!
Venture forth and help steal cable for the gnomes or solve the mystery of the Forest of Poorly Animated creatures in some of the over 120 handwritten quests that add decided flavor to the world.
When the going gets tough, mount other players and ride together into battle to utilize one anothers abilities with forceful results that will leave your opponents stunned, shocked, and awed.
Best of all, Secondhand Lands is free to play! Take advantage of everything the game has to offer and advance through the game to level 200 without spending a dime.

Wow, so much for a great mmo… Best PixelMineGames had, anyways. Yes, it had a small, mostly troll filled community. Yes, it wasn’t that big. But guess what – It had FAR MORE potential than the other two MMOs. Will always miss SHL, glad I played as long as I did…

You guys really need to find a way to get ShL back up. This was hands down my favourite mmo out there, and it was something completely different. It never got boring, and brought many good friends to me. The community, though at times was bitter, were all in all close together. We were like a family, and we always were there for each other.
You guys need to bring this back. Not having it in my life is really depressing, I miss good ol’ ShL, with the cigar smoking sheep, and the wolves that ran around with anthro dragons on their backs.

I agree 100% with what Egg and Alex had to say. I miss the community, the unique PvP, the quests, and the fairy-tale world. I have tried many other MMO games, yet none even come to the standards of this game.

I agree with you all. SHL was the bestest game I ever played. Those faction wars were epic, I get so many friends, and I love even my haters… I wish this lovely game will get back soon.

Yep, SHL was one of the best games I ever played. I really miss it. I still remember when I started out early in 2011.. This game needs to get back. 🙁 So many good memories with friends, had nice (and annoying aswell) times making quests, faction wars…

It’s really a shame to see this game go down, as I have been looking for a Animal MMORPG like this one, and this happened to be the perfect choice. Just when I was about to try it, I found out that they have been shut down. Is there any way the SHL can be brought back up at all, by any chance? 🙁

Meadow, it is said that Lancer has tried to bring the game back, but so far I haven’t heard really any news ’bout the game. I hope that someone who knows shl’s current status, if it is coming back, comments something about it here.

One way of thinking people often use when they feel they need to stop playing a game for a while is “no worries, I can always continue playing again some time later”. I thought so too. That this game with it’s great setting and gameplay and as a platform for meeting lots of great people would still be here. That it isn’t is absolutely heartbreaking to me.
However, I still feel that there might be a little bit of hope of this game being brought back one day, and if any serious attempt is ever going to be made I’ll happily support it.

Augh, so sad to see this game get shutdown, even if it was nearly a year ago- it was basically the first MMORPG game that I actually put some heart into. ;-;

If it does come back, it needs better mods. That would help cleanse the community of losers/trolls, and make the game more player friendly… Last I saw was a group of wasteproducts wasting it. All the good players off the game. Was sad…
